Collection: Aether Hollows Collection

Wax shaped by space, movement, and light.

Zenaural’s Aether Hollows Collection explores sculptural candle design through architectural form, organic openings, layered color, and negative space. Each piece is conceived as both a candle and a small wax sculpture, where solid material and open form work together to create depth, shadow, and visual movement.

The collection draws inspiration from eroded stone, natural cavities, mineral formations, and abstract architecture. Softly irregular openings interrupt the mass of each candle, allowing light to move through and around the form in ways that change as the piece is viewed from different angles.

Form Defined by Absence

In Aether Hollows, the empty space is as important as the wax itself.

Openings, recesses, curves, and asymmetrical contours create a sense of movement within each sculpture. Rather than relying on surface decoration alone, the collection uses proportion and negative space to give every candle a more architectural presence.

Displayed unlit, each piece functions as a sculptural object. Once lit, flame and shadow introduce another dimension, allowing the form to evolve visually over time.

Marbled Color & Organic Variation

Layered and marbled color gives each candle a naturally individual character. Pigment movement, tonal transitions, surface variation, and internal patterning shift subtly from one pour to the next, ensuring that no two pieces are perfectly identical.

The design language remains consistent, while the natural behavior of wax and color creates small variations that make each finished piece distinctly its own.

Scent as Atmosphere

Fragrance is selected to support the collection’s sculptural and elemental character. Mineral, botanical, woody, floral, marine, and softly atmospheric accords may be used to extend the visual story of each form into the surrounding space.

Each candle is scented at a 10% fine-fragrance load, allowing fragrance, sculpture, and candlelight to function together as one sensory composition.

Craftsmanship & Materials

  • Purpose-selected premium wax formulation
  • Scented at a 10% fine-fragrance load
  • Premium fragrance oils
  • Premium candle colorants
  • Layered and marbled wax coloration
  • Individually cast and hand-finished
  • Cotton wick selected according to each candle’s size and form
  • Hand-poured and finished in the USA
  • Small-batch production

Every stage—from color layering and casting to demolding, surface refinement, wick selection, and final finishing—is considered in relation to the architecture of the piece.

Light, Shadow & Sculpture

The hollowed geometry of each candle is designed to interact with its surroundings. Open sections catch ambient light during the day and create changing areas of brightness and shadow when viewed from different directions.

When the candle is lit, that relationship becomes more dynamic. Flame, wax, and negative space gradually alter the appearance of the sculpture, allowing the object to change as it is experienced.

Artisanal Character

Because each candle is individually cast and hand-finished, variations in marbling, color movement, openings, edges, surface texture, and fine detail may naturally occur.

These differences are not defects. They are part of the material process and contribute to the individuality of each sculptural piece.

Designed as an Object

Aether Hollows is created for interiors where form matters as much as fragrance. Each piece can stand alone as a sculptural accent, become part of a curated object arrangement, or serve as a distinctive gift for someone drawn to modern art, architecture, and unusual candle design.

Aether Hollows turns wax into architecture—shaped as much by the spaces within it as by the material that surrounds them.
