Zenaural’s Poème en Cire collection transforms plant-based pillar wax into expressive sculptural art. Inspired by the Aegean Sea, Tuscan landscapes, Impressionist color, botanical scenery, and intuitive abstraction, the collection brings together original designs shaped through repeated making, observation, and hand-applied detail.

Each candle is individually cast, composed, painted, and finished by hand using layered color, tactile wax relief, and spontaneous mark-making. The design shown in each product listing serves as the artistic reference for that style. Its central imagery, color story, proportions, and overall atmosphere are preserved, while the natural movement of wax ensures that every finished piece carries its own character.

Each Poème en Cire design may be created again, but no two finished candles will ever be exactly alike.

Color placement, wax texture, painterly marks, surface relief, translucency, and small compositional details naturally shift from one piece to the next. These variations are not departures from the selected design; they are part of the hand-making process that gives every candle its individual presence.

Poems in Wax

More than décor, each pillar is conceived as a small emotional landscape shaped through color, form, fragrance, texture, and light.

Some designs evoke whitewashed Aegean villages, open water, citrus gardens, Tuscan fields, olive trees, wildflowers, or scenes remembered through the atmosphere of an Impressionist painting. Others emerge through intuitive color, layered wax, and spontaneous composition.

Expressive rather than literal, every candle preserves the movement of the material and the presence of the hand that shaped it—giving the finished piece the character of an artwork rather than a mechanically repeated object.

Scent as Atmosphere

Natural Surface Evolution

A newly cast candle may initially display a softly luminous surface. With time, the wax can naturally develop a more matte, mineral-like patina as the material settles and matures.

This gradual surface evolution is a natural characteristic of the wax and part of the visual identity of Poème en Cire. It enhances the candle’s sculptural presence without compromising its intended quality or performance.

Sculpted Frost™ Finish

Sculpted Frost™ is Zenaural’s name for the collection’s distinctive combination of hand-applied wax relief and naturally developing mineral-matte character.

Born from material, time, temperature, and touch, the finish allows each candle to evolve subtly after it leaves the studio. The resulting surface feels less manufactured and more like a small landscape shaped through movement, cooling, layering, and the passage of time.

The effect is intentionally tactile and dimensional, reinforcing the collection’s identity as sculptural wax art rather than conventional molded candle décor.

Made to Order

Most Poème en Cire candles are made to order. The photographs shown on each product page represent the selected design and serve as the artistic reference for your candle.

Because each piece is individually cast, layered, painted, and finished by hand, production requires time that cannot be compressed into conventional mass manufacturing.

Estimated production time before shipment:

• 1–3 candles: approximately 3 business days
• 4–6 candles: approximately 7 business days
• 7–12 candles: approximately 14 business days

Larger orders may require additional production time. Estimated timing begins after the order is confirmed and may vary slightly according to design complexity and current studio volume.
